My name is Sonny Gardner. I’m a Bridgeport resident and have lived in Bridgeport most of my life. I’ve always enjoyed taking pictures as an amateur. I later found that I enjoyed developing websites.
I discovered that I enjoyed developing websites when I had the idea that I could reach a lot of people to keep them informed of an upcoming reunion by putting the information on the World Wide Web. The website was a success because as more people discovered the website they informed others. Before I knew it, I had access to hundreds of people that I could keep up to date on the upcoming reunion.
I later thought it would be a good idea to develop a website for the Harding Basketball team because I didn’t see a website for the Basketball team. I had just gotten a better digital camera and I was ready to shoot some pictures. I expressed my idea to my friend Coach Charles Bentley. Charlie thought that it was a good idea and gave me permission to use the pictures that I was taking on the website.
I proceeded to work on the website. I thought that the pictures were good, but I was unable to get good actions shots. I upgraded my equipment and was able to get catch a few action shots. Even though I had purchased better equipment, I still wasn’t getting really good pictures. I started to ask advice of the most familiar photographer of high school sports, Mr. John Gilbert. John was very unselfish and began giving me pointers on how to improve my shots. As I’ve applied the techniques taught to me by John, my shots have improved.
I hope to continue shooting pictures of the games and putting them on the website. I think that the website is exciting and the Photosite is a great way to display pictures of the games in the format of a slideshow.
